Our Simone Ovart left us on January 9th.

Simone  has been   a symbol  of   devoted and committed Zontian. She was a special and amazing woman. Gracious, strong and passionate. We shall all miss her. But she will  always be  in our hearts.

Area Director in 1996-1998, member of Zisvaw International Committee in 2000-2002, Governor of D30 in 2002-2004, she had the power and the honor to establish 12 new Clubs and one new country, Macedonia.

She was International Director in 2004-2006. Since 2004 to 2010 she was a  member of the UN Committee and since 2010 Simone  represented Zonta International at UN in Geneve.

As the  President  of NGO CSW Committee  in UN Geneve until 2018 she organized  seminars and panel discussions   on  women’s rights. Thanks to her “carisma” the UN doors were always open to her Zonta friends!

We all remember Simone as Chair of the 61st Convention of Zonta International  2012 in Turin, Italy. It had been her masterpiece.

She inspired so many of us and she will continue to be a guiding  light for everyone.

Her smile, her passion, her committment will remain with us. In her  honor and memory we will keep  going ahead  in asserting womens`s rights and fighting for gender equality.

Farewell Simone ! Let your soul rest in peace.
