Great honor for the Zonta Club of Pforzheim:

Karin Saeger receives honor medal of the city of Pforzheim

Pforzheim. Zontian Karin Saeger was awarded the „Bürgermedaille“ of the city of Pforzheim (citizens’ medal of the city of Pforzheim) as an honor for decades of social commitment with Zonta. She received this special prize, which is annually awarded, from mayor Peter Boch during the traditional New Year’s reception. The ceremony was attended by 2.000 guests from politics, economy and society, as well as citizens of Pforzheim and numerous members of Zonta. Hence it was a perfect setting to inform a broad public about Zonta’s projects and goals.

“There is nothing good unless: you do it” – quoting famous German author Erich Kästner, Karin Saeger started her speech and explained to the audience the name, the goals and the diverse activities of Zonta. She underlined that a city can only profit from such commitment when service clubs and volunteers work hand in hand with municipal institutions. “Those who volunteer remove problems instead of complaining about them”.
